I'm No Angel is a 1933 film starring Mae West and Cary Grant and it is the source of inspiration for several of our designs. The story and screenplay credits for the film went to Mae West and it is one of her films that was not subjected to heavy censorship.
Mae West was one of America's biggest box office attractions the most controversial star in the 30’s and many filmgoers responded enthusiastically to her portrayal of a woman "from the wrong side of the tracks". Her satire outraged moralists and film historians agree that she was one of the factors for the strict Hollywood “Production Code” (Hays Code) - set of cinema guidelines for the censorship self of content that was applied to most motion pictures released by major studios in the United States between 1934 and 1968.
